Keeping Your e*Branch Sessions Private:
The information you send us, and the data you see displayed on your accounts is stored on computers that sit behind firewalls to shield it from the Internet. You communicate with our computer by using a web browser. We only support browsers that use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology. SSL and the other safeguards listed below are designed to ensure that:
- The information you send and receive will not be read by others, and
- You are in fact dealing with us instead of a site impersonating us.
We also utilize 128 bit encryption to transmit sensitive information to you. Encryption essentially establishes a secret code for your information that must be unscrambled to read. You may be required to update your browser occasionally in order to use our site.
We require a Personal Identification Number, or PIN, for accessing sensitive information such as your credit union accounts. The PIN is one that you choose, and the credit union does not store PINs. For further security protection, we require that you change your PIN on a regular basis.
We limit the number of invalid PIN entry attempts at account login. If you exceed this number, you will be locked out of the program and you must contact the credit union to have the access unlocked. Since we do not store account access PINs, be sure to record and store yours in a secure location for future reference if needed. If you are unable to remember or find your PIN, please contact the credit union at 605-334-2471 to request that a new one be issued to you.
In addition to PINs, the credit union employs other methods to help us authenticate who you are when attempting to access personal financial information. These include the use of random security codes, a security key image, and challenge questions. These are utilized as part of the login process to help us ensure that only you and the people you wish to have access to your accounts are allowed entry.
Further methods beyond those required by the credit union are available to you as part of our account access service, and we strongly encourage you to utilize them for enhanced protection. Account nicknames, user color settings, account alerts and more tools are available to you under the Options menu tab when logged into your home banking session.
If you are logged in to your accounts and there is no mouse or keying activity for a specific length of time, you will automatically be logged out, and you must log in again.
