Buying New

The Price
Your first objective is to make sure you know what constitutes a reasonable price to pay. The best way to learn that on new vehicles is to learn what the dealer has invested in it. New car shoppers can quickly learn the dealer's cost, or invoice price, by using our Chrome Carbook vehicle pricing service. You'll find a comparison of invoice price and sticker price on any new vehicle, and on all available manufacturers' options. With Chrome Carbook, you can negotiate price from dealer cost up rather than sticker price down.

Incentives
Another important piece of information you'll want to have is whether or not there are any manufacturer incentives being offered on the vehicle, such as rebates or low-interest financing. Rebate amounts can range from $500 to $5,000 or more, depending on the exact make and model. Again, our Chrome Carbook service is here to help with up-to-date incentive offers on the vehicle of your choice.

Does your vehicle manufacturer offer 0% financing? Is a no-interest loan better than a discounted selling price? More about that when you get to the Financing page

Did you know a dealer can sell you a new vehicle at cost and still make a substantial profit? It's because the manufacturer keeps a "holdback" of 2 to 3 percent of dealer cost on each vehicle, to be paid to the dealer when it's sold. That means a car with a $25,000 dealer cost can earn him $500 to $750. Because of this, many people are pleasantly surprised to learn that they can actually buy below dealer cost!
